What is Dysport?

Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA) is an FDA-approved injectable neuromodulator that works similarly to Botox. It temporarily relaxes muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, smoothing lines and preventing new ones from forming.

Dysport vs. Botox

While both products contain botulinum toxin type A, Dysport has some differences:

• Faster onset – Results often visible in 2-3 days vs. 3-5 for Botox
• More spread – Diffuses more, great for larger areas like the forehead
• Natural look – Some patients prefer Dysport’s finish
• Different dosing – Units are not interchangeable with Botox

Treatment Areas

Dysport is FDA-approved for glabellar lines (frown lines) and is also used off-label for forehead lines, crow’s feet, and other facial wrinkles.

What to Expect

Dysport treatments take about 10-15 minutes. Results appear in 2-3 days with full effects at 2 weeks. Duration is typically 3-4 months, similar to Botox.
